Our Opportunity

The Portfolio Executive is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities. This role involves understanding client needs, promoting insurance products, and building long-term relationships to achieve revenue targets. To manage, develop and grow the business, with a key element in retaining existing business, up selling and cross selling. This position focuses on enhancing customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty through effective communication and service delivery. The Business Development Consultant serves as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, resolving issues, and providing personalized assistance to meet their insurance needs.

Requirements

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

  • Align with Bryte guiding principles and way of doing business.
  • Identify and research potential clients through various channels, including industry events, referrals, and market analysis.
  • Act as a liaison between the executive and internal/external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and team members.
  • Coordinate communication and follow-ups to ensure efficient collaboration and information flow.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring their needs are met and inquiries are addressed promptly.
  • Coordinate client meetings, events, and business activations, including logistics and follow-up activities.
  • Generate leads and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand clients' insurance requirements.
  • Present and explain insurance products and services to clients.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of business development strategies, including market research, competitor analysis, and identifying potential opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to support lead generation and client acquisition efforts.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and assignments as directed by the executive (s), which may involve coordination with various departments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Cross-sell additional insurance products to existing clients.
  • Work closely with underwriters, claims specialists, and other internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Growth and retention of the business, including following up on renewals, updates on endorsements and any other matters related to client service.

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. Insurance qualifications (Minimum qualification of COP; AIISA will be an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 5 years in sales and business development experience, preferably in Commercial and Specialised business
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse data, identify trends, and derive insights.
  • Proven experience in business development and sales, preferably in the short insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of non-life insurance products and industry regulations.
  • Negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present complex information clearly.
  • Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive in identifying issues and developing effective solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Microsoft Office applications.
