Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy CEO with responsibilities for
- The Sapphire Claims Unit management
- Sapphire Risk, Compliance and Governance
- Custodian of Reinsurance Wordings, Sapphire internal and external documentation standards
- Liaison with Sapphire Leadership Group
Develop and implement an effective Claims function
- Translate the organisational strategic plan and define the Claims strategy
- Implement systems and control to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information
- Responsible for audits internal and external
- Development of relationships (ie lawyers/ loss adjusters/brokers) to ensure the service levels are maintained
- Management and development of staff
- Management Information monthly reporting
Effective Reinsurance Capacity Management (Treaty)
- Hold regular discussions with CEO to determine the basis of exposures and reinsurance requirements
- Collaborate and communicate with Sapphire exco, Bryte Reinsurance team as well as Actuaries, Reinsurance Brokers.
- Ensure the approved programme is effectively implemented and communicated
- Ensuring all contracts are safely stored
- Monitor and report quarterly to the RI brokers as need and ensure payments done accurately and on time
Effective Reinsurance FAC Management (FAC)
- Monitoring of FAC place ensuring appropriate mandates complied with
- Compiling and reporting on FAC placed to Bryte
Effective Compliance, Risk and Governance administration
- Take ownership of all compliance reporting to Bryte
- Ensuring that all contacts are stored securely
- Attendance of the Risk committee, preparing reports and taking minutes
Leadership Accountabilities
- Lead the team; setting objectives, reviewing performance, and participating in selection and promotion decisions to ensure that employees have the necessary skills and understanding to deliver the team's objectives

Education& Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in an UMA environment, Reinsurance knowledge advantageous
- Strong computer literacy, especially MS Excel, MS Word and MS Powerpoint
- 5 years’ Management and Leadership experience
